Why do people home school there children?

Homeschooling allows great control of the curriculum. I know someone (a teacher) who has exceptional children, and has decided to homeschool them. They are more advanced than other children who go to public or private schools in our area, because they can advance at their own pace. They are, however, also very careful to ensure that they have proper socialization by having the kids in sports groups and extra curriculuar activities. They have a clroom setting by working with up to 30 other homeschooled children on science projects, etc. and by attending large bible study cles. I think it is very difficult to home school a child well, and I wouldn't recommend it to just anyone.
