How could I check my Mitsubishi Spyder GT 2001 distributor? ?

I have a Mitsu. With a PO300 code, I have heard that it could be caused by the Distributor and wanted to know if there is anyway that I would be able to check it. Also if anyone has any information on what could cause a PO300 (Random Multiply Misfire) codes to come up please let me know, I have been trying to get it fixed for the last month now. Thank You
